Great news for teachers and others as Democratic Life supporter the Five Nations Network launches a new round of funding for Citizenship projects.

The Five Nations Network is encouraging teachers and others to apply for small grants to undertake action research projects into Citizenship and values education. Applicants will need to ensure their projects meet four key criteria. Projects should:

1. be small-scale, and school or school/community-based
2. involve inter-nation collaboration between at least two countries in the Five Nations Network (England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales)
3. be of an innovative character; and
4. build on existing links and projects to support transfer of ideas to other jurisdictions.

Examples of successful applications and more information can be found on the Five Nations website.

Applications should be submitted by 7 December 2012.

Notes: the Five Nations Network brings together policy makers, teachers and other stakeholders with an interest in values and Citizenship education. The network is funded by the Gordon Cook Foundation.
