Select Committee announces short consultation on the English Baccalaureate

Friday 11 February 2011

On Wednesday the Commons Education Select Committee announced an inquiry into the English Baccalaureate and a call for evidence. It is very short, ending on 8 March.

The Committee is inviting written evidence on:

  • the purpose and benefits of the E-Bac and its value as a measure of pupil and school performance;
  • the choice of subjects included in the E-Bac;
  • the implications of the E-Bac for pupils, schools and employers;
  • international comparators for the E-Bac.

You have just over three weeks to respond. Evidence must be submitted by 8 March 2011 (preferably by email to educom@parliament.uk, marked ‘E-Bac inquiry’).
