The Five Nations Network has joined Democratic Life.

The Five Nations Network is a unique forum that brings together teachers, educationalists, policy makers, NGOs and young people from England, Wales,  Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland every year for an annual conference to share practice in education for citizenship and values.

In September 2009, the Five Nations Network issued a shared Call to Action calling on politicians and policy makers across the five countries to make a renewed commitment to citizenship and values education to enable young people to engage with our increasingly complex, challenging and changing world.

While Democratic Life’s immediate concern is promoting citizenship education in England’s National Curriculum, we believe every young person should receive high quality citizenship education and are excited to work towards that goal with the Five Nations Network in the UK and Ireland.
